Medicine in a Golden Sunset

Feeling this photo today... I can attest for the medicine in a golden sunset gracing skin.

I just returned back home from a 3 week (and 5,000 mile) camping trip. As I walked through my front door last night, the first thing I noticed was the contrast of hardwood floors and white painted walls hitting hard against my "dirty" earth soaked feet and campfire-adjusted eyes.

A shift took place during my trip. When I resign myself to Nature there is a release of stress, fear, and control. My perspective expands and I'm reminded to look up towards the sky. I'm reminded that I am of the Earth, for the Earth.

I return to this home feeling more myself. I return to this @leather.sage space with renewed energy, and with a growing understanding of what it means to have a voice. Moreover to USE this voice. To create, express, share, and uplift. To help the spreading of information. To stand in my power and help build momentum for all that is good.

I stand for this earth and its innate healing. Please go find some nature today. For a re-energizing of your heart, mind, & spirit.

I stand for health of all people. Please wear your face coverings and wash your hands. If not for you, then for your family and your community.

I stand for black lives, indigenous rights, and gender equality & fluidity. Accept that police brutality is real, and if you haven't seen it watch video footage (it's easy to find.) Pay attention to whats happening on reservations, from the covid outbreaks to pipeline projects. BELIEVE WOMXN. Please continue to learn: read books, research, listen, seek out stories. Sign petitions, share resources, and support BIPOC artists/friends/businesses. Refuse to be a bystander.

I stand for discomfort. Please talk with your families, and ask questions. Engage in respectful discourse with people you don't fully agree with. Read more than one news source. VOTE and pay attention to the results.

One of my favorites... "The comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there." Begin to lean into uncertainty and you will begin to expand.

P.s. it's okay to get it wrong as we go along. Keep learning, adjusting, evolving. You're doing a fantastic job.
