“Desert Dreamland”
“Desert Dreamland”
The harsh conditions of the desert are met by awe and respect. As I walk, I realize that this desert daydream is more than just a journey through an arid landscape. It's a journey through myself – a journey of finding peace and tranquility. In this quiet place, I've found a quiet space in my mind where I can take a deep breath and let go of any troubles. In the middle of the desert, I remember how to bloom again.
With each bead meticulously chosen and placed, the art piece showcases the beauty and texture of the Sedona desert landscape. The play of light on the beads creates a shimmering effect that brings the piece to life, giving it a dynamic, almost photographic quality.

I was able to bead about 10 rows in an hour, with just over 1,000 seed beads in this final design. I used cross stitching software to adapt and adjust a photograph of an anatomical heart; then, I just beaded by number from top left to bottom right. I sewed the entire beaded piece onto natural blonde deer leather. The heart was framed by a friend, using 5 different types of beautiful hardwood. Topped with glass and hung by sturdy wire.
